OH. MY. GOD.
MuchMusic, thou hast redeemed thyself. Sort of. Perhaps only because I’m mad at thine usually-better bastard cousin MuchMoreMusic for depriving me of my weekday evening Power Hour hair metal fix.
Last night, I was watching the end of The Punk Show, and they played an AFI video. I almost literally jumped out of my seat. And I taped it. Then they had one of those preview things for the MuchLoud channel, and Dave Mustaine from Megadeth was picking the videos… he played Zeppelin. Vintage Zeppelin. A live 70’s performance video for ‘Rock and Roll’. Taped that too.
So now I have AFI’s ‘Days of the Phoenix’ sandwiched in between Rush playing ‘Spirit of Radio’ at SARStock and Led Zeppelin. It’s like one rockstargasm after another. *g*

misscam and her talk of Sorry Day have stirred my usually dormant conscience [nasty little bugger that it is]. So I apologize in this entry to:
- Everyone I ever flamed or gave a downright idiotic review to as a young and arrogant author.
- shiplizard, for not being on MSN nearly enough and neglecting to reply fast enough last time I was.
- Those who I jumped to conclusions about yesterday, and said some things to that may come back to bite me in the ass.
- Anyone I’ve ever jumped to conclusions about based on past experiences.
- That girl I made fun of back when I was little. [Yeah, it’s bothered me to this day.]
[However, just as a note, I don’t apologize at all for my rather twisted sense of humor, or the perverse pleasure I take in freaking people out. That also goes for anyone whose ass I’ve ever kicked, because if I did so they definitely deserved it, or anyone who was dumb enough to buy something from me for more than it was worth. Hey, it’s not that I *don’t* have morals- it’s just that I don’t have many.]
I have a cold. Damn my faulty immune system and my sisters’ rife-with-disease little friends who run around here… be a dear and fill out the second survey, it would make me feel better. :P

So Anne Rice went and threw a tantrum on Amazon.com because people didn’t like one of her books. The whole thing is pasted/discussed here. I haven’t read Blood Canticle, so I can’t offer my own opinion, but GEEZ. I’ll be the first to admit, back when I was writing a lot of my own fic, fan- and original, I did a lot of the stupid things young authors usually do, including being a review whore and a generally self-righteous brat. However, if I got a bad review, I LIVED WITH IT. I was disappointed and sometimes pissed, but I don’t recall ever throwing a full-fledged hissyfit and calling the other person unfit to read the Dickensian fruits of my gigantic intellect. This woman has been writing since the 70s. You’d think she would have learned to deal with criticism, no? And she’s also writing the autobiography of Jesus. Funny, I never pictured Jesus as a crazy chick who writes [formerly good] vampire lit. Heh.
Damn dieting… there should be some sort of way to only lose weight where you WANT to. Say, like taking a few inches off my thighs and making my cup size C again. *eyeroll*

All the people wearing those “What Would Jesus Do?” bracelets got me thinking about what a ridiculous question it is.
Just think about it. What would an all-powerful, immortal, omnipotent being whose daddy rules the universe do? Anything he feels like.
Say Jesus and Dave want the same brownie. Technically, Jesus could:
a) multiply the brownies
b) being all-powerful and that, make Dave think, “Wow, suddenly I don’t *want* a brownie. I’ll go help myself to the broccoli”
c) threaten Dave with eternal hellfire should he take that brownie, or
d) cause the brownie to float over to his plate, then announce, “the brownie has chosen who shall eat it”.
None of these can be done by the average human being [that means you].
Simple logic, people.

Name: I was originally going to use my then- usual online name (StarlightWarrior) but it had too many letters. So, I basically just spelled my first name differently ['Sasha' to 'Sasja'], and tacked on a Russian last name. 'Sasja Sokolov' was also the name I was toying with using if I ever became a published author. I've since gotten out of the Russian- obsessed phase and haven't written anything but lyrics in a while, but the name's stuck.
Icon: Mine are ALL pretty easy to understand, but what the hell... er, it features Geddy Lee and conveys my loathing of Disco at the same time. Two for one.

Love Actually, is, hands down, the worst movie I’ve seen all year. The only redeeming aspect of it was Bill Nighy. Washed-up, irreverent, fictional, former rock stars- gotta love ‘em.

Today, I did the black/red eyeliner combination for the first time in ages. I’d forgotten how much fun experimenting with makeup could be.
I have a weird sense of style, and I get bored quickly, meaning I can go around in full-on Manson makeup and wrist chains for a month, then show up wearing purple or gold eyeshadow. It's always something bizzare, though. I never saw the point in dressing up just so you could look like everybody else. Weird is beautiful. You can only look at so many assembly-line Barbie girls before you get bored and move on. I can only be happy with how I look if I, personally, would be attracted to myself if I saw me walking down the street. So being the sometimes-goth, always-rocker, slightly- new wave-ish freak is perfectly fine with me.
I’m seeing Rush in 9 days. [Expect a much more excitable Sasja as the 22nd draws closer.] Speaking of Rush, I love this song, I love this icon, and I love this mood theme picture. :)

Taped Rush and some of the Rolling Stones from the SARStock DVD preview Saturday. They showed some of the “special features”, including a backstage interview with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson [which lasted all of ten seconds, but cool nonetheless, because it’s Rush].
Babysitting neighbor kid today. He and my little sister played cards. It’s preferable to tinkering with household chemicals, anyway.
I <3 Cheap Trick. You know how you can hear a few songs, think they’re OK, then hear them again a year later and absolutely love them? That’s what happened. So I screencapped some more of their videos.
